With Interieur mit / ohne Frau in Rot, Gabi Blum interprets a painting by the French painter Félix Vallotton from 1903 and also tells us something about the hatpin incidents that caused a worldwide sensation in the same year. Vallotton had experienced social advancement through his marriage and retreated into private spaces, while women all over the world began to move around alone in public spaces and had to defend themselves against assaults by men with their hatpins. Gabi Blum draws an arc to her own biography and, for this tableaux vivant, finally enters herself as a model in the room-filling installation, which is modeled on the painting.

The performance is followed by a talk netween Gabi Blum and Lisa Britzger about Gabi Blum's artistic practice, role attributions, the space without walls and production conditions as an artist, as well as about Lisa Britzger's curatorial approach for the Kunsthaus Kaufbeuren.
